Could you be missing out on the Warm Home Discount this year?

The Warm Home Discount Scheme helps low-income and vulnerable households with their energy costs. If you qualify, your electricity supplier will automatically apply a £150 discount to your electricity bill, so you will not receive the money directly. It will not affect any Winter Fuel Payments or Cold Weather Payments you receive.
If you receive Pension Credit, you will qualify automatically. We’re therefore encouraging all residents of pension age who are not already receiving Pension Credit to check whether they may be eligible by 23 November 2026 to qualify for this year’s scheme.
Good to know
- You can still have savings and qualify for Pension Credit.
- Your name must be on the Energy Bill to get the Warm Home Discount.
- Those on prepay meters are still eligible.
Some people of working age who receive means-tested benefits may also qualify for the Warm Home Discount.
