Croydon Youth Zone, known as Legacy, is an independent charity with a purpose-built facility for the boroughs, supporting young people ages 8-19 and up to 25 for those with additional needs. Young people have access to an indoor climbing wall, sports hall, fully equipped gym, training kitchen, music room with a recording studio, arts and crafts room, dance and drama studio and much more.
Membership is £5 a year and then it’s 50p on the door for each visit. There are no extra costs involved.
ccha’s Chief Executive, Tracy Cullen, talks about why ccha were eager to be involved with Legacy:
“As a local community housing association, we are keen to not only provide affordable housing, but to enhance our residents’ lives through innovative community focused initiatives.”
Our involvement with Legacy means we have been able to offer free holiday club places for our residents, giving your child something fun to do that they wouldn’t normally get a chance to. As well as this, it helps those struggling to afford childcare during school holidays by providing a safe, fun and engaging place for their children to go while they work. Legacy is a great place to learn new skills, meet new people and relax. Children of all abilities are welcome, and the experienced team of staff and volunteers are there to support those attending to experience all the activities offered.
